Join Squiggla at Te Kete Aronui Rototuna Library for a colourful mixed-media mobile-making workshop.
We’ll start with playful mark-making, experimenting with different tools and ways of making marks, before diving into a treasure trove of materials to create your very own Squiggla mobiles.
Inspired by artists like Alexander Calder, Joan Miró, and Alicia Frankovich, we’ll explore balance, movement, and a bit of joyful unpredictability as we build hanging artworks that dance, shift, and come to life.
As Calder said, “When everything goes well, a mobile is a piece of poetry that dances with the joy of living and surprise.”
All materials are provided.
Suitable for ages 6+ (children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult). This is a relaxed, beginner-friendly workshop with options to adapt activities to different abilities and access needs. Please feel welcome to get in touch about any specific access requirements.
