Creative Waikato: Squiggla Visual Music Making Space at Te Whare Taonga o Waikato Museum & Gallery

In partnership with Creative Waikato, Squiggla is pleased to host a Visual Music Making Space at Te Whare Taonga o Waikato Museum & Gallery on Saturday 21 June, as part of the opening festivities for 843 - 855, an exhibition outcome of Creative Waikato and Community Waikato’s collaborative project Auahatanga ki te Kāinga.

At the Visual Music Making Space, the Squiggla team will help you make sense of the senses through responsive mark-making in harmony with live music. Think of your mark making tools as instruments in an orchestra, and respond to the music you hear, composing and performing in real time with an eye and ear toward techniques of pattern, synchronisation, rhythm, tone, variation and play.

This Squiggla Making Space welcomes participants of all ages and experience levels. In a Squiggla Making Space, there are no mistakes or wrong decisions. The most important thing is to trust your instincts!

Saturday 21 June, Making Space open 10.30-noon, 12.30-2.

Te Whare Taonga o Waikato Museum & Gallery, 1 Grantham Street, Hamilton Central

Free to attend, refreshments provided.
